They came to earth—Pestilence, War, Famine, Death—four horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity. They came to earth, and they came to end us all.
When Pestilence comes for Sara Burn’s town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed.
Too bad no one told her Pestilence can’t be killed.
Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and he’s eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer she’s with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her … and hers towards him.
And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she’ll have to sacrifice her heart in the process.
Pestilence the Conquerer. He brings plague and infection to the human race. God has unleashed him to rain down on people because they have gone rogue. Nothing the human’s do surprise him. Even when they try to kill him. What they don’t seem to understand is that he is immortal. Try as they might he returns with a vengeance. Then he meets Sara.
Sara drew the short straw, staying behind to end the Horseman. It doesn’t go well and he takes her hostage. He shows her misery, death, and suffering. What she shows him is compassion and love. Her initial hate of Pestilence slips away and she begins to regard him in a different light.
Their adventure across Canada and down the west coast of America is quick paced. You learn about Pestilence and Sara and how their relationship changes. How they become to rely on each other. It’s an amazing story and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series; War!
Ms. Thalassa writes a spectacular book. Pestilence and Sara are both amazing characters. Sometimes Pestilence would be high and mighty since he is Pestilence the Conquerer. Sara could be you or me. I love how she was written, minimal details, but a powerful voice. Sara turns into the conquerer. I was rooting for Sara and Pestilence.
