Dark Harmony by Laura Thalassa

35223072There are worse things than death. Things that lurk in the shadows and slip into your dreams. Things that have no business existing. Things that once slept … but have now awoken.

For Callypso Lillis, the fae magic that now runs through her veins is equal parts curse and good fortune. For the very thing that bonds her to Desmond Flynn, the King of the Night, also makes her vulnerable to the Thief of Souls, a man who wants to break the world … and Callie along with it.

But it’s not just the Thief whose shadow looms over the Otherworld. Des’s father is back from the dead, and he wants revenge on the son who sent him to the grave in the first place.

Des and Callie must figure out how to stop both men, and time is running out. Because there are forces at play working to tear the lovers apart once and for all … and unfortunately for them, death is no longer the worst thing to fear.

The Thief of Souls is still wreaking havoc on all the kingdoms. Then he comes knocking the door of the night. The only difference is, they answer. Callie is learning her ways around being a siren. She is also learning more and more about Des. They go on an adventure to the tomb of Des’s dad – he’s not there. So they must find him, because he is the key! Or is he? Secrets come out. Des knows more than he is letting on and Callie must summons all her strengths to win. Can she do it? Will the Thief of Souls win, taking Callie as his bride to be?

The plot just wasn’t there for me like the other books. This was more sexy and steamy – HELLO! But the plot and how things lined up, just fell apart for me. I did enjoy the book, but I felt like it could have benefited from a stronger Ahha moment. Does that make sense? We all know in the end that Callie is the one who destroys it all, but I wanted more of an explosion, metamorphosis of her character. She’s come such a long way, I was hoping that the Siren would be present more often, not just in sex and anger. But that’s me.

Overall good series.
